Sunrise Children’s Home
Named in honor of the dedicated Rotarians of Missoula Sunrise Rotary, the Sunrise Children’s Home provides a therapeutic home for children aged four to 12 who have experienced early childhood trauma, such as abuse, neglect, exposure to family violence, multiple moves away from their birth families, or periods of homelessness. When they walk through our doors, they bring stories of survival and resilience, along with a deep need for safety, stability, and care.
At Sunrise, children experience relationship-based care that respects who they are and what they have endured. Our relational developmental approach centers on one simple truth: healing happens through healthy, trusting, and consistent relationships. Every day, we work to surround children with safe adults who can gently rebuild their sense of security, predictability, and belonging.
Families remain a vital part of the work whenever it is appropriate and safe. When children cannot return home, we partner closely with the child’s team to support kinship, foster, or adoptive placements that can offer long-term stability and love.
Everything we do is designed to help children feel safe in the world again, safe enough to explore, to connect, to learn, and to grow. We help them build strong, healthy relationships, trust in the care of adults, develop regulation skills, and nurture a positive, sturdy sense of self.
