About Us

Youth Homes is a nonprofit organization caring for children and teens who face abuse, neglect, emotional trauma, and substance use issues. Since 1971, we have supported more than 20,000 youth and their families in Western Montana. Through our emergency shelters, therapeutic group homes, transitional living programs, and counseling services, we offer a safe haven for children as they begin to heal. We show them compassion and teach them how to trust, build confidence, and develop healthy relationships.

We offer a safe home with nourishing meals and attend to each youth’s emotional, social, physical, spiritual, and intellectual needs. From the initial intake through discharge, we strive to stabilize the crisis, identify unmet needs, address their complex issues, set realistic goals, and connect the youth and their families to local resources. We provide the support they need to build happy, fulfilling lives.

The mission of Youth Homes is to “help every youth feel safe, have a sense of belonging, and find a place to call home.”

Our vision is “To provide an array of services to support children and families of Western Montana, regardless of their ability to pay.”
