Dan supervises the operations of our Shelter Program. Since 2007 he has had the pleasure of working with an extremely caring, dedicated & passionate group of people here at Youth Homes. Dan worked as a direct line care staff for 7 years before becoming the Program Director of the Shirley Miller Attention Home in late 2014, then becoming the Director of Shelter Care in 2020. He holds a BA in History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison which has provided fun facts, annoying quiz knowledge and eye rolling, mostly at the dinner table for residents over the years. He enjoys challenging kids to challenge themselves, showing them that goofiness and responsibility are not mutually exclusive and that adults still ‘got game’ on the basketball court….sometimes.
