Montana Wilderness

Youth will have the privilege of experiencing western Montana and Northern Idaho’s most beautiful country. Our summer trips operate in the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness, the third largest wilderness area in the lower 48. Spanning the Montana-Idaho boarder it consists of over 1,340,500 acres of road-less backcountry. View a map of the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness. InnerRoads is granted a special use permit on Nez Perce – Clearwater and Bitterroot National Forest.

The spring itinerary takes place in the Charles M Russell Wildlife Refuge in northeastern Montana. The youth will experience the rolling hills, native prairies, forested coulees, open river bottoms, and wild badlands of the Wildlife Refuge.  Containing some of the most unique habitat in all of Montana, the Missouri River and the Missouri River Breaks play host to a plethora of wildlife species.  For more information check out the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service website.
